Art Exhibitions
Without doubt the backbone of the festival is the art exhibitions each year.
In 2009, the Darlington Arts Festival is proud to present five diverse exhibitions: Open Art Exhibition; Youth Art; Schools Art; Invited Artists Exhibition; and the Retrospective Exhibition.
Some Key Highlights this year include:
School Art is taken to a whole new level this year as we celebrate the Year of Astronomy through an interactive multi-media event with our local schools. Make sure you visit the special tent over the weekend to see what our stars of the future have created!
Our Invited Artists Exhibition this year features artists from Dalry Road. This small, winding road in our beautiful village is amazingly home to many well known artists, as well as several emerging artists. This promises to be a very special and diverse collection of works.
Our retrospective exhibition will this year feature the works of renowned ceramicist and local artist Leon Pritchard. We are proud to be able to work with Leon and his family to provide you with an intimate showing of some of his best pieces.
